The Story of Clever Mouse And The Angry King

Once there was a mouse. While walking on the road, he found a piece of cloth. He took the cloth and went to the washerman. He said to the washerman, ‘Washerman, wash my cloth.’ The washerman washed the cloth. Then the mouse went to the tailor. ‘Tailor, tailor, tailor, make me a nice hat and put colorful pompoms on it.’ The tailor made a hat for the mouse.

The mouse put the hat on his head and took a drum. He started singing while playing it, ‘My hat is better than the king’s hat. Dhum, dhum, dhumak!’ The king heard this. He told his soldiers, ‘Go and catch that mouse.’

The soldiers caught the mouse and brought him to court. They took off his hat and gave it to the king. Then the mouse said, ‘King beggar, took my hat. Dhum, dhum, dhumak!’

Hearing this, the king got very angry. He threw the hat at the mouse. The mouse put the hat back on his head and started singing again, ‘The king scared me. Gave me my hat back. Dhum, dhum, dhumak!’ Singing this song, he left the palace.

Moral: Wisdom is superior to strength.
